Sparsity In Everything: The Skyline of Paris

At different points in time, public policies and construction materials did not allow for buildings higher than about 16 meters high. In other periods of time, experiments were attempted where this limit was raised and subsequently dropped. The result: a sparse collection of tall buildings in a sea of 4 or 5 stories high buildings.

A collection of entries featuring Sparsity In Everything examples can be found here.

I was just thinking whether a good sparse representation may be when attending a lecture.

We do not attend the entire lecture and reason the entire thing ever. But we get but small pieces which are the more important ones or representative ones.

In any lecture, the lecturer gives but a few really insight or important topics.

Nothing conclusive though, just a random thinking.
